Dr. Steven Leung was born in Toronto and subsequently moved to the United States after completing his high school education in Toronto. After completing only 2 years of undergraduate studies, he was accepted into Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Upon achieving his dental degree (DDS) in 2003, Dr. Leung underwent a surgical internship at the University of Pennsylvania and then pursued his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Case Western Reserve University while also obtaining his degree in medicine (MD). Dr. Leung is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada since 2009.

In his free time, Dr. Leung to travel with his family and play tennis.
